I got a laugh at the "1965 Camaro". No such thing--started production in 1967

I hate
“dessert” v s “desert”
One is sweet, the other is dry.
Pronounced and spelled completely wrong for the conventions of the King’s English. I have to stop and think about it.

You can use a dual plane intake. My Edelbrock Performer RPM was no problem.

But! … Cut a 1” relief into the divider beneath the carb. This allows the EFI charge to mix properly before heading down the runners to the cylinders. If you try to substitute a 1” open spacer, the engine is not as smooth. Can’t explain why, but I did it both ways and know what works.

Sniper EFI with the matching Hyper distributor…

Been there, dun that

Went into the trash, back to carb now.  Got a bunch of spare EFI parts n little widgets still in the original boxes if anyone wants them.

I’m stuck with a 56-psi Tanks Inc gas tank that is re-routed for stock manual pump.

What an education! It was a $2K EFI “ow-ie” and several tow truck rides courtesy of AAA to love the horrible smell of my Holley 650 and MSD again.

Y’all have fun and enjoy the journey!

30 years in the classroom this year. With my recent birthday, I reached the "magic number". I'll still teach undergrad classes and work with the national Formula SAE college competitions--college students will never be out of my life.

Gonna head out to the garage and get a lot of cars finished. Switching '67 back to carb, welding Heidts onto '70 then paint, and cursing the rust re-appearing on the TR-6.

Not gonna be a warrior "Bash" guy yet--I'll let Al Mc. and Glen B. hold down the fort on that one.
I am chasing some possibilities of more pace car work with SCCA and TRANS AM.  Anything for more track time.

A lot of Cobra kit car guys shorten the handle an inch or two (cut and splice) because interior space is limited. I’m doing this on my current Triumph TR6 build. Looks better. Different leverage changes effort.

But how far do you go to mess up an original Shelby???  (MSteve, DO NOT answer that question!)

As MSteve would tell you (and any trader of firearms), "you buy the thing, not the story."

But here goes: This is one of three Shelby's destined to be test mules. This VIN is the middle car of the three late-69/early 70 Shelby GT350s with 351C.
The VIN before it is the factory experimental fuel injection car, the VIN after it was a IRS build, destroyed during testing. This car: tests desert super cooling for a/c and with upgraded wiring package (best guess from extensive research). Click the SECOND HYPERLINK below to see its "sister" car.
https://www.hemmings.com/stories/2013/06/17/one-off-cleveland-powered-shelby-g-t-350-to-cross-the-block

Marti report confirms and the build sheet notes "test car/interior" status.
Car has been sitting as you see it since 1996 (27 years). Oh my it needs work! Doubt I could get it for under $40K, which is market for a 70 Shelby small block, auto, air car-- WITHOUT the weird "test mule" story.
Auction would probably double that--maybe $60-80K. Anyway, I'm good having dibs and first refusal when (IF!) the owner decides to sell instead of restore.
(I'd drop in a stroked 351W and O/D tranny. If this is some important "time capsule" car that must be preserved, I'm not that interested.)

Yeah, I told owner I want dibs. He said ok.
1970 Shelby GT350. 351C (car is an hold over from 69) auto, ram air, low miles. Runs rough-ish. Rust in rockers
It’ll likely get shined up and go to a fancy auction as is. Owner wants his 60 seconds of fame on camera negotiating the ‘reserve’.

Daze,
I'll return to your post up top, and comment on the video.
Very informative. The "talking stick / pointer" made me feel like a cat chasing a laser pointer.
Your parts appear so clean in the well-lit environment. Nice "staging".
"What you don't see is the camshaft." Loved that part.
Your '62 Galaxy will love that engine. Thanks for the video. High quality work.

Hagerty never questions when I raise the the value of my four cars I have insured with them. I justify it ("new motor", "paintwork", etc.) and tell them how much to increase the value. Bam!, Done. Piece of cake.
FYI: They cared more about the security at the storage unit where I sometimes garage the car.

Bro, just buy a high-quality, well-built SHORT BLOCK (roller/non-roller...blah-blah-blah whatever!) and then do your own thing to it.

When it's done, you'll look back, happy, and it will have been a fun and educational experience.

Pretty tough crowd on this forum, so...humbly, I would submit that "300 to 375 hp" is a pretty wide range and a fifteen hundred-dollar difference. (Wanna see really crazy money?--look at the difference between 295 hp and 395 hp.)
um...MAYBE narrow the hp range just a bit. You are everything between a junk yard pick-n-pull--a cleanroom blueprint--and a MustangSteve retirement "Canyon Lake Special".

Clean data card with current upgrade to install in the handheld unit on the EFI system
Fixed or progressive linkage
Data pin removal tool
Sensors (I always travel with a complete box of fresh sensors just in case)
Air cleaner stud
…and so on and so forth

For me, www.efipro.com saved me so many headaches.
When I do another Holley Sniper with Sniper distributor, and I will do it again, I’m going to go straight to efipro for their complete package.

My car runs balls to the walls and I don't smell like exhaust fumes when I am done.
