FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » Help with 7.5 rear » 12/24/2015 10:02 AM |
it will cost you just as much to rebuild that as rebuilding a 8.8 you can find a decent used one cheaper. 8.8 came with trac loc so that's one less thing to have to buy. you can get them cheap look for people parting cars out if you pull it you're self/

FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » 16 inch wheel brake options » 1/29/2015 9:47 PM |
Well i dont think 12" rotors will fit in the v6 calipers but i know the above setup fit nice in my 16 konig Rewinds
FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » 16 inch wheel brake options » 1/29/2015 6:54 PM |
Here is another pic of the mod that will have to be done on the bracket to make it work with the v6 brakes. i had a machine shop do it due to the thickness of the bracket
FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » 16 inch wheel brake options » 1/29/2015 6:48 PM |
to run the 05-10 v6 front brakes you will have to modify Mustang steve braket a bit to make room for the caliper to slide on the bracket unless MS made this mod already i did this to my 65 mustang to keep my 16" wheel i had just got. as you can see i had to cut the U shaped area out of the MS Bracket to make sure that the caliper will slide. you also may have to grind a bit of the caliper bracket where it meets those big gold bolts as it may not let the caliper bracket bolt holes line up.

a sealer primer helps when you are painting over old paint of unknown quality and to help get a even color
FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » I just totalled my mustang on the way home. Lucky to be alive. » 8/25/2014 6:57 PM |
if you can't figure out what happened then it was probably somthing outside you're car that caused it maybe a bit of wet pavement soft soulder somthing. i think that you would have probably felt somthing go wrong in the car if somthing broke suspention wise to cause that. make sure to tell you're wife that it can happen with ANY car not just old ones. this could have happend to a brand new camry or mustang or what have you.
FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » I just totalled my mustang on the way home. Lucky to be alive. » 8/22/2014 11:29 PM |
ah that just plain sucks. i just got a nice 90 mustang 5.0 in that color green. its a "7up" car. i bet you can find another fox. glad to see you are all right. i know it might hurt to do it but there is some good parts left on that can you can part it out to put some cash on that next one.
FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » New play car » 8/13/2014 9:49 PM |
i would do the mustang steve brakes. its cheaper for the cost of calipers on KH you can get rotors and calipers on the 05-09 mustangs and pads probably too. not to mention you dont have to change the spindles if you dont want to. im still using the 6 cylinder spindles on my car tho you will have to use the 4 lug hubs. as the 5 lug hubs have the bigger bearings. if it s just going to be a crusier then that should be plenty fine. you can even get a 4 lug 8" rear end out of 71-73 mavericks that use the same bolt pattern that you have now.
FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » New play car » 8/12/2014 9:35 PM |
you can get away with 16" if you use 05-09 v6 caliper and rotors i did this on my 65 stang i even keep it 4 lug and have konig rewinds on them looks good MS has pics of what needs to happen to make that work.
as to keeping the 6 you can make a lot of power out if them and still get good MPG with a T5 setup. look at the aluminum cylinder head that is over there on fordsix guys are making 200+ horses at the wheels and still get 27+ MPG. there is a bunch of austalian guys there that have a ton of knowledge about the 6 cylinders.
FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » 65 Mustang Inline 6 auto to T-5 conversion » 7/03/2014 4:56 PM |
Hello, i have a 65 mustang with the inline 6 in it are you sure its a 65 block? check the casting Number to make sure if its starts with C6 or later then it will make it much quicker to do the swap. also there is a forum dedicated to the ford sixes www.fordsix.com that has a TON of info on this and what bellhousings and other stuff is needed. also post some pic if you can i would like to see it ;)
FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » rear disk brakes for my 68 mustang » 6/02/2014 8:23 PM |
a 8" rear end will look like this forgiving of course that this one is a 4 lug maverick axle you will want one out of a car that mustang steve has laid out. other then the 4 lug bolt pattern and disc brakes. this is what you are looking for.
FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » rear disk brakes for my 68 mustang » 6/01/2014 10:30 PM |
umm are you sureyou have a 8" rear?? in 68 they didnt make a 8" 4 lug rear they did for mavericks in 70-73 and if you have one of those the regular rear disc swaps wont work because the axle flang bolt pattern is the same as the 7.25 rears.
