I have a very unusual problem...I have a 67 coupe that is a V8 conversion. On 4 seperate occasions I have used a hand held remote starter switch ( you unplug the starter wire on solenoid and clip the one lead to the terminal that you just unplugged and the other to the pos. terminal on battery.I do whatever it is that I needed to do and take the remote switch off and plug the wire from the ign. switch back on to the terminal on the solenoid. Then I get in the car and the ign. switch doesnt work. When I check the switch there is no continuity between the batt.terminal and the sol. terminal.I replace the switch and everything works fine. This has happened all 4 times I used the remote switch.I checked the switch this time and got the same thing.Going after ign.switch #4 this weekend...Also, without the key being in the run position the engine will run as long as i'm holding the remote button in...Can anyone recommend a good exorsist...Or any other help will work too. Oh,by the way I've had this car for 2.5 years and have put less than 1 (thats right one) mile on it.HEP ME SOMEBODY HEP ME!!!!

Are you looking for front brakes from a Granada? If so I think I still have a complete set.

Well....( I know...deep subject ) I'll probably go with the cobra since I am using plain 8.8 rear drum brakes...My biggest goal is to get 5 lug on the car, which the 8.8 is quick and cheaper and I think good cobra disc's will work ok with them....My next built (should I survive this one) will be much more intense.......thanks for your input though.....what kinda car you got?

I have an 8.8 fox body rearend in my 67 coupe..it is still 4 lug....somebody tell me just one more time, what axles I can swap and put 5 lug 8.8 in it.....is it 2 left side ranger axles and if so,what years do they have to come out of....can't find a Granada to save my life so I will probably do the (I think this is right) 96-2004 cobra front disc conversion using the MS adapter kit on the front....this has been talked about before but I would like to get all the correct info again and get a fresh start on what i'm doing....this will be truely appreciated

excellant video Derek....been looking on line for videos just like that....my 67 coupe and a almost forgotten 66 fairlane are both destine for a similar future....well actually the fairlane is a mess and likely to see some major sheet metal work compared to the mustang....trying to find as many "here's how I did it" videos as I can...thanks for posting it!!

The more I've been thinking about this EQUUS BASS770 car, the more I actually appreciate that I own the "original" real thing '67 Mustang (even if mine is a coupe and heavily modified) and not a modern copy of it.

That's nothing....I recently heard of 427 powered mustang from a little town in Texas that can take it!!

I've been trying to make the ohm's law thing work too and can't,but what about the fact that the solenoid coil is also dependent on battery voltage and probably requires full voltage for a maximum pull on the contacts....A weak coil (low voltage) can't pull and hold the contacts together tight enough and they arch when current begins to flow...They could even be "chattering" to some degree...just thinking with my 2 fingers

hey william f...I agree with the majority, manifolds keep it clean and simple...unless you have plans for engine modifications to compliment the headers your'e just wasting money....I would get large diameter pipe though,...2 1/2" if it will work with the manifolds...that will help to get good sound and better performance too....

A few months ago I brought up converting my 67 coupe former 6cyl. now 289 to 5 lug...I went on to mention that someone had put a 8.8 rearend in the car but it was still 4 lug...I was then told that I could use 2 left side axles from a ranger (5 lug) to swap out my existing 4 lug axles...Did I understand that correctly? Is it a swap and can I also swap out all the brake components as well? Could it be that seemingly simple or did I miss something??Also, are explorer 8.8 rearends the same as a ranger? I have a donor 93 2 wheel drive explorer or are there specific years and/or models that I must use? Is there a difference in pinion location from a ranger 8.8 and a fox body 8.8 that makes the axles the same length or have I just totally got it wrong....Are there any ways to tell if I have a fox body 8.8 in my car and not a ranger/explorer unit....AND if this works and I go with the 94ish cobra front disc/5 lug conversion will I end up with the same size lug pattern front and rear..........I'm so confused

If you decide that the solenoid is the culprit, you might consider getting a solenoid that is for "continuous" duty.....The contact surface area is larger the magnetics are stronger and the return spring is much stronger....They are more dependable and longer lasting because they are designed for harsh use...They are found primarily on electric powered equipment that is self propelled and or runs a hydraulic pump or other pump, motor or high amp drawing light assemblies....NAPA has them.....just a thought

I would size the bolts so they end up with 3 or 4 threads showing out the back side of the water pump flange and be sure to use lock washers....16" 5 blade should be plenty but why did your electric fan slow down (you said "barely turning")? Or did you check it yet? (low voltage, loose connection, bearings etc.)And yes,you need a shroud...Unfortunately flex fans don't work well (if at all) with shrouds because the blade flex changes at higher speeds and reduces the pull through the radiator where as a clutch fan set-up fixes that

Just an FYI. I believe Ford did not start installing Torque boxes on both sides as standard practice until 1968. So in your 67 it is not "missing" per say, they just did not put them in. However, if you have to open it up to do floors anyway, having one on both sides is a "better idea".

OK....it does look awfully clean in that area, not like anything used to be there!! (except for about 25 tek screws sticking out from the inside) Why would there be something only on one side? I thought torque boxes on both sides were necessary for integrity...will there even be a driver side available aftermarket?   Thanks to everyone!!!
