It's an after-market repro wheel.  Turns out that cam on the back of the wheel was spinning. So, instead of cancelling the signal, it was just spinning.  I epoxyied the hell out of it. Working so far!  Thanks for everyone's input!

What I'm finding is that that piece with the two tabs on the back of the wheel is moving. Compared to the one on the original that is stationary. I think it's hitting the cancelling tabs and just spinning since the tabs are stronger in this case. How do I lock that piece onto the wheel without interfering with anything else?

1966 Coupe.
The problem started when I changed the steering wheel.
I remember someone saying to adjust the height of the column.
That didn't work, so I replaced the switch, still not cancelling the LEFT side.
Does anyone have any ideas? I can't find anything about this in the archives,
I'm not using the right search words, I guess.

Thanks in advance!

What number does the title have on it?

No title.

They started titles in NY in 1973

The door tag looked OK, the fender apron was as smooth as Kojack's head.
The guy insisted the car came this way.

For example, I know if the car came special-order paint, the paint code is blank, I thought maybe it was some kind of weird thing like that.  I never claimed to know EVERYTHING

Though, he kept going back and forth saying he had the car for 12 years and that he had the car for over 25 years.

I just found it to be a little odd.  He was asking $10,500

I was recently looking at a 1966 Mustang, V8, it had the light-up corral horse on the grill.
There was no VIN on the left fender apron, where the notch is in the fender.
The guy pointed to the buck tag and said, "Here's the VIN" (WRONG)
Besides replacement of the fender apron, is there another reason the VIN wouldn't be there?

Why don't you just put it where the hole in the carpeting is?

An 1156 will fit, but, you may need a smaller, one-filament bulb to fit with the lens on.

Are the 1964½ front bumper guards different than the 1965-6 ones?

I just bought one from eBay.  Where it meets the bottom of the bumper looks different, and the 'width' (front to back) looks more narrow.  It's going back, but I was curious about these differences.

I was told years ago that the 6 cylinder engines had "self-adjusting" valves.

Does that make sense?  Is that a "thing"?
Like I said, someone told me that.

No, the original fender has a "keyhole" notch, that comes out of the big hole. I think you bought the right thing.

My dirtbag neighbors down the street have that lamp in their front window.
It probably sounds funny to have that, but, what a bunch of trash-a-holics!

Hi.

I have a '66 Mustang, I use the "vintage" plates.
I want to temporarily take the car off the road for a few months to save on insurance.

What do I need to do?  The DMV site is useless, typical government double talk.  They tell me to surrender the plates for the DMV office to store, BUT, in the next sentence they tell me the DMV DOES NOT store vintage plates.  I finally found a number to call, but I got drawn into the automated phone message maze.

[INS CO]  doesn't have answers, either.  I can't be the first person to do this!
How do I prove to the insurance  company that I am cancelling the registration?

Thanks in advance for any / all help!

Pete

K' Bobs, just curious, do you live in an incorporated village?

When I bought my rental property, I was careful not to buy in the village because of all the rules.

I really liked the whole look of that video.  They went through the trouble of showing older cars parked on the sides. But then, at 1:22, they show that guy in the racing costume with the 'newer' car.

It IS clever, but I gotta agree.
I don't think that will keep the drinks too cold.

Bore out the cylinders enough to make room for ice AND the can.

Two things I like to remember...
1 - It's YOUR Car...
2 - There are a lot of ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT vehicles in the Junk Yard..?

My 70 Mach is Vermillion (Calypso Coral) and it came from the Factory with Vermillion Interior. I was told... Don't change it because it is SO RARE. Not many came that way. Then I figured out the reason why... The car is Orange and the Interior is RED. Not a great combo. So I changed it to the way I wanted MY Car... Just sayin.

I enjoyed what you said.  A friend of mine had an 'Emberglo' car. (code V)
He thought he had gold because it was only offered one year ('66),
and not many of them came in that color.
