Man, I hope you're right.  I would hate to see all of our classics become obsolete unless we did an electric swap.

I've bought this rechargeable streamlight work light and have been very pleased with it.
It's a little small compared to most work lights, but it's very bright.
It's a little pricey, but I've been very satisfied with streamlight products in the past.  They have a lifetime warranty, which I have used more than once on some of my other streamlights.

It's been so long ago it's hard to say when I joined...maybe 2008...maybe sooner.  I was on the old forum.
I can't even remember for sure how I found it...probably looking at classic mustang parts or the technical write-ups that Mustang Steve had on his website.

In that time I've only managed to make it to two bashes (Franklin, TN and Ft. Walton Beach, FL).
Life's been busy lately with the blessing of two little girls, so I haven't been very active lately.
I just saw where next year's bash is in Huntsville, AL.  That's not too far... maybe I can make that one.

Yep...PimpX is just Megasquirt in a Ford EEC-IV case so it plugs into your factory wiring.

Bummer that you have to give up a performance part to get the drivability where you want it. If you ever get the itch you should look at a Megasquirt based "plug and play" set up for that SN-95 wiring harness.

I'm running a PimpX ECU in my daily driver '91 F150 that I swapped from 300 to 351W with GT40 heads, headers, 1.7ratio Crane Roller Rockers, etc...  I'm very happy with it.  I had never attempted to do any tuning before, but I was able to do this with no problem.  The "auto-tune" feature is super nice.

This guy's Megasquirt video helped me get started.

When building my 351W for my truck I bought a set of reman GT40 iron heads (not GT40P) for $550.  That seems to be roller cam 302 you're working on... could be a decent upgrade.

I've always "Bench Bled" my master cylinders in the car, but the way I did it was connect the lines from the MC into their corresponding reservoir on the MC (just like you would when doing it on a bench) and then pumped the brake pedal very slowly until there were no bubbles.

I like how it's resting on the axle... Extra points if it's zip-tied to the driveshaft too!

I'm not 100% sure on a falcon, but on a 65/66 Mustang, which is pretty much the same as a Falcon, I think, the upper and lower control arms and spring seat are the same on a v8 and a 6 cylinder.  Spring, spindle, brakes, and steering components are different, though.

Yep... more or less... but theirs is way cooler and It's already taken me more than 5 days.
I really dig their custom intake and headers...way cool!

If you're interested in how I'm building it I'm pretty much building it exactly like the guy in this link did, except I think I'll probably use long tube headers if I can find some that will fit.  Coincidentally, that guy is just a couple hours up the road from me... maybe I'll get to meet him someday.

Wow... You got away with only changing the lifters and cam?... amazing.
After hearing that story I think I'll give those lifters a second look.

As far as the cam being a healthy grind... unfortunately not.  It's going in a truck so it's a cam made for low RPM...pretty much all done by 5000 RPM.  Also, It's going to fueled by the stock Speed Density EFI, so that really limits cam choice. (Hopefully I can convert it to Mass Air EFI down the road).

I'm building this to the same specs as a guy over on the Ford trucks forum.  His dyno'd at 300hp at 4800 RPM.  I don't remember the torque it made, but I figure making 300hp at that low of an RPM it should be pretty torquey.  In any case it should be a pretty noticeable gain over the 150hp 300 I6 in the truck now.

Ok, I just gave this a second look.  I have 5 cylinders that have a 4 and a 6 on them, and 3 cylinders that have two 4's on them... So that means that I don't have enough 6's to put a 4 and 6 on each cylinder.  That fact combined with the fact that they have the same part number on them makes me think that the 4 and the 6 are interchangeable when it comes to installation.

Maybe the 4 and the 6 are just what mold they were cast out of for quality control purposes??? just a guess

I can see how it looks that way in the first picture.  Here's another one that shows the part numbers more clearly.  They are both part number F3ZE-6529-AB which really makes it even more puzzling about the 4 and the 6.

6Sally6,
I'm building this 351W with GT40 heads to go in my daily driver '91 F150... should be a nice upgrade from the 300 straight six.

The lifters are the original roller lifters from the '95 351W, but I'm going to use them.  Supposedly this engine had less than 100,000 miles on it.  I've got a friend with a roller cam 302 that he rebuilt at 300,000 miles and put the same roller lifters back into it.  That was over 10 years ago...I'm not sure how many miles he's up to now, but it's got to be at least around 400,000.

I was installing the Crane Roller Rockers on my 351W and I noticed that each rocker has either a 4 or a 6 cast into it... Can anyone tell me if they have any significance? (i.e. do all the 4's go on the intake valves and all the 6's go on the exhaust valves...or vice versa)

So, I was installing the roller lifters in my 351W tonight and I noticed these holes.  I assume they are oil holes since these are hydraulic lifters.  Do they need to be in any special orientation? (They'd have to face either up or down due to where the flats spots are that interface with the "dog bones")

I don't know anything about CSRP but the K-H brakes and brackets such as were used on the early Mustangs are an easy swap, not too expensive, and work well.

I helped my Father-in-law install a CSRP Kelsey Hayes disk brake kit on his '66 Mustang, and I was very impressed with it.  I would assume the kit for a '65 Falcon would be very similar if not identical.

As TKO said the roller cam 302 started in 85 in the mustang.  I'm not sure about in other vehicles. I know that the truck engines didn't get a roller cam until about 94 or 95.

FYI if you can't find a local roller-cam 302 with the GT40 or GT40P heads there is a guy who sells rebuilt GT40 and GT40P heads on ebay for around $550 a pair.  Or, if you get an '87 or later 302 it should have E7 heads.  You can do some light port work on the exhaust side of the E7's (see link below) and improve them some with minimal effort and cost.  They won't be anywhere near as good as the GT40 or GT40P heads, but they'll be decent for a driver.
