For added insurance, install Evans waterless coolant.  Install it and forget it.  No more leaking radiators or heater cores.  No more having to change coolant that has hardly been used, to get rid of coolant turned acidic.

I like it! Do you need to rotate the tube as you pull it through?

It would probably be a handy tool to have around for removing the input rod.

....speaking of fabricated brake tools, I recently did a fuel line plumbing job on a friend's '79 F150 Super cab. We installed a '92 Mustang 5.0L fuel injected engine in his truck. He has dual fuel tanks and I had to run all the plumbing (supply & return) between the tanks, switching valve, filters, fuel pump and to and from the engine.

My buddy had a 25' coil of 5/16" and a 25' coil of 3/8" steel tubing to make the fuel lines from. I had never used coiled steel tubing before, since I've always delt with 60" straight lengths. It was a bit difficult to uncoil the tubing and get them into straight, workable lengths. If the line is curved, bent or warped to start with, it makes it much more difficult to accurately bend the lines to the shape needed for a given run.

I had looked at some tubing straighteners but, they ranged in price from around $150.00 dollars to around $200.00. I decided I would make my own. The only thing I had to purchase was the U-groove bearing rollers. They were under $25.00 for all five.

This is a 60" stick of 3/16" tubing I had gotten from O'Reilly's. It had some bends in it, right off the tubing rack, when I bought it. I put the bent tubing in the straightener and it smoothed the tubing back straight again.

How will you scrap it considering it will no longer be rolling stock?

I want to retain the stock look but I am tired of turning hand over hand (ad nauseam) to make a simple 90° turn at an intersection.

Are you dealing with an aftermarket wheel?  That cancel ring is a friction fit on the hub.  It should be tight and not be able to be rotated by hand.

If you have power assist steering, that 13.5" wheel along with a shelby quick steer pitman and idler arm would be sweet.  It would keep it from feeling you were reeling in yards of canvas when you make a 90° degree turn at an intersection.
I am trying to get a stock plastic OEM wheel cut down to just over 14".

....in their horizontal speedo instrument cluster?....and if so, who was the supplier?  I spoke with Mustang Project today and they said theirs were not.  On the HiPo LED website, they claim that theirs are, on most systems.  I have not spoken to them yet as it was too late in the day to call them.  My OEM bulbs are anemic, even at full rheostat.

Wow!  Galpin Ford. A blast from the past.  That is where we went to oogle the cornstarch polished Shelby AC Cobras, back in the day. we've been in the PNW for the last 30 years and we have lost touch with the old Valley names.  One of the things that we really miss are the NY style Jewish Delis, in Sherman Oaks.

Well the deal just fell through. Some red warning lights in my gut started blinking when the "history" of the car was coming out. Car was very solid and I hated to walk away, but didn't need to spend that level of money on potential title issue.

Sorry Mochaman but IMHO, at that price, it was too good to be true!

Plenty of room to have them in with the Shelby Drop but it might be harder to get them started if they were not pre-installed.

Who's converted an OEM (AC w/ York compressor), on a 65-66, and what was your experience?  My '65 still blows cool, having been 30+ years since it was topped off.  I also have 4 cans of R12 on the shelf.  But if the conversion is successful then I may be better off selling the R12 and doing the conversion.

I have a neighbor who just converted his '84 Buick Regal.  It was totally empty.  He didn't even evacuate the system.  He just replaced whatever the conversion amounted to, added the 134A with a can of Red Angel sealant and his AC blows ice cold.

Any images posted herein, via a PhotoBucket image link, will go blank. Without any notice PhotoBucket has just decided that if you want to link your pictures to forums and other sites, you need to pay $399.00. I do not know if that is a one time charge or an annual fee. Either way, you can guess what kind of success they will have in extracting those fees from users. I can guarantee there will be a lot fewer of them.

The sad part is that there will be untold numbers of posts, internet wide, whose valuable information will be ruined.

Great idea on the fire extinguisher  I'll have to toss one in.
btw, I found a crack in the upper power steering valve hosed,.  You had to look real hard to find it. Now to find a hose that fits.

I replaced the two control valve hoses 35 years ago.  I never gave a thought to 'hose seats' as I was not even aware of them. I assume that there are two of them located in the ram, as well.  I can now see that there is probably some 'crush' factor in the successful sealing of the hoses.  Reusing them, with new hoses with slightly different flared ends would not be able to fully take advantage of a fresh ';crush'.

The strange thing is, that after all these years, with relatively few miles, that one connection would fail so catastrophically.  In one small arc of a 90° backward turn, the system dumped the whole reservoir full of fluid on to the street.  Prior to that incident, there was never any sign of a leak.
