Thanks Daze, I put one of your DIY kits on my car back in the early days of the roller perches along with your Arning drop template. One of the best mods I've ever done to my Mustang.
Best wishes on continuing success.

I've had Grundy since 2004. No mileage limit. Can even drive to work. Mustang can't be your daily. Automatic increases in agreed value coverage.

Never filed a claim though...

Got my Mustang in December 2004. Joined in 2005 when I installed the  MS power brake mod. Been here almost every day since.

On these old cars the door and ignition keys are different. I bought a set that had the ignition and doors keyed alike. So unless that had been done on your car, pulling the door lock probably wouldn't help. Back to the drill idea..

Billy here's a link for their small block engine bolt kits:
https://www.amkproducts.com/i-kits/ford-individual-fastener-kits/?year_=1966&model=Mustang&category=Engine%20-%20289%2F302%2F351W

F489 kit for timing cover and F249 for the water pump. The water pump kit is for a 67 with factory A/C.
Click on the camera on the far right to see what comes in each kit.

I also have the FlowKooler pump on mine...

Billy, check out AMK Products. They have bolt kits for everything on your car. The Mustang vendors have them.
 https://www.amkproducts.com/master-kits/ford-master-fastener-kits
I used their water pump bolt kit on my car, it comes with a chart showing where each bolt goes.
Their stuff is often used for restorations because it is so exact.

It's an 89 crown vic roller 5.0 block .030 over with flattop pistons. Iron gt40 heads, mustang gt 5.0 roller cam. Weiand street warrior intake and the summit 500 carb. Pertronix 3 in the factory  distributor. Starts easy and runs very well. Built it myself and it now has over 30k on it. I'm happy with it.

The car is like yours but I have a c4 automatic.

Billy, I have the Summit 500cfm on my 302 after having a 570 Street Avenger. Easy to install and the best part, no fuel leaks on the intake. Throttle response is great too.
Use a spacer under the carb instead of the thick gasket that comes with it. The accelerator pump won't clear the intake manifold...

You might try to pressurize the cooling system with a loaner tool from your local parts store. Might make the leak more obvious.

I have the original RetroSound 1 radio. No cutting the dash. They now have versions with Bluetooth. The FM sounds good but I have lots of songs on a flash drive that plugs into the radio. Sounds good. I have a Bluetooth adapter that plugs into the aux port but I never use it.

And even then double check everything. I got a flexplate that was packaged wrong from Summit Racing when I built my 302. Shook like you would not believe. And get your rotating assembly balanced. I did not do that the first time and had to tear it all down and start over.

My 66 had a Monte Carlo bar on it when I got it. When I added the export brace it basically dropped right into place. I'm sure the Monte Carlo bar held the fenders in the right place to help it line up.

Don't know if you figured this out but I think you have the black and green wires backwards. I looked at my Sun tach today and the black goes to the negative side of the coil and the green is the ground for the light.

Hope this helps...

I'm in the final stages of adding EPAS to my 66. Still using the stock box and added a EPAS from a Toyota Yaris using the method posted by Waid. It was a fun project and really cleans up the underhood area. Next I'm adding A/C
https://www.therangerstation.com/tech/toyota-electric-power-steering-eps-conversion/
I'm waiting on a adjustable pot kit from ebay to make the amount of assist adjustable. I've driven it some and the assist level is acceptable. The return to center is lacking but I did replace all of the steering linkage and the toe is probably off some.

I am finishing up my project doing the same thing to my 66 Mustang. I am using  a 2010 Corolla column from a pick-n-pull. Mine works but the steering is stiff and has hardly no return to center. I have a factory power steering car. Still has the original box. Replaced all of the linkage with manual steer parts. Fun project but I am trying to solve the stiff steering.

I drive mine a lot. I've had it 16 years and have put over 30k on it. It was down for 3 yrs when the engine let go. It's down now while I convert from hydraulic power steering to EPAS. I'm getting close to being done. Then I'm adding A/C. the climate in KC is such that I never park it for the winter. There's usually nice days here and there even during the winter when I can drive to work.
