I bought my 67 kelsey/hayes caliper from ssbc through summit racing. It was cheaper there than on the ssbc website.

I used to know the 2nd owner of these cars. Real nice guy that bought and sat on them for 30 years. Not my taste but pretty neat in person. I know he made good money when he sold them.

Hot Rod did an article on a vibration problem few years ago on a 67 fastback. Maybe it will give an idea how to approach the problem.

Do you have the shock in? That should stop it before hitting the frame rail.

If it's at all speed make sure you have the right balance flywheel. I had a horrible vibration at all speed and I had 50 oz flywheel instead of  28 oz flywheel. Swap them and the vibration went away.

Do you have to remove the steering column to get the pedal support out and the new one in? I'm interested in doing this but I have never taken it out before. I'm doing it in a 67 coupe.

Check if your air cleaner is tightened down all the way. I had the SAME sound and it drive me nuts. Touched the air cleaner and it went away. Hope it's a simple fix.

Here's a picture of the wheel:

It looks a lot like a torq-thrust M or a bullit wheel.  Here's a picture of the backside:

I was able to get a doubled piece of card stock between the caliper and the wheel at the tightest part.   Pleanty of clearance between the spokes and the front of the caliper.  As MS says, "clearance is clearance," so I'm going with it.  This is a 17X7 wheel with zero offset, which works out to a 4" backspacing.  I'm going to start with a 225/45 tire and try for a 235/45.  I bolted it up the rear, which is from a Lincoln Versailles, and there was about 2-1/8" between the outer rim and the leaf spring, which means I could run a wider wheel w/ more backspacing in the back.  Rev makes a 17X8 with zero offset (4-1/2" backspacing) and one with 12 mm offset (5" backspacing).  By my calculations, I can fit  the 17X8 with 5" backspacing with at least a 235/45 tire and maybe a 245/45 tire.  We will see.

I wonder if the stick on wheel weights would work. Guess I'm going to be buying this kit for my christmas present!!!! Thanks for posting the pictures!!

If the 12.5 brake kit works with the TT2 rims,  I'll definately buy the kit. I have granadas which are good solid brakes but would love to upgrade to modern stopping power. Especailly living in SoCal.

Hey guys I was wondering if my rims will work. I read that the spokes on TT2 rims curve back. It seems that it doesn't. Do you think the brakes will work?? Thanks for the help.
